Seeing Things Activity

As part of the reportage project we were looking at the idea of creating drawings inspired by object elements of landscapes. Unfortunately i was absent for this session during uni therefore i chose some of my own landscapes that i took in my local village.

I chose these two particular landscape images as soon as is aw them i saw some key elements that appeared interesting and could be developed to create something else. For example the first image was taken during sunrise on a clearer day, this meant the clouds appeared in this fluffy pink style. OF course when thinking of this my mind automatically went to cotton candy to which i developed and drew as seen in the image. I really like how this looked as it had a fun playful element. I chose to work digitally so i could easily draw over the image, i also used a simple pencil tool with a white colour to create a simplistic look with a strong contrast.

The second picture was taken over some fields during a period of weather when a rainbow appeared. as soon as i saw this image  knew i could have a play around with creating a different image. For example when seeing a rainbow we often think of the pot of gold which is said to be at the end therefore i decided to play on this idea with a smaller illustration which can be seen peaking out of th elandsacape and fitting towards the end of the rainbow. Again i used a simple white colour to create a contrast against the darker tones of the picture as well as the pencil tool to add a simplistic element which still has some overall texture.

Overall i was really happy with this task, i found it fun and really game me an opportunity to be creative in a slightly different way. Moving forward i may think about doing this with some objects instead of landscapes and includes more complex design and details.
